We are certain that you had a vision when you started your business.
It might not have been written down or framed and placed on a wall, but you had an idea and a vision, and it inspired you to make a start.
Along the way, you went through the wins, and some major failures and some wins again, then some more mistakes.
No company starts with the vision or mission to be average.
Most want to be a type of leader in their segment or industry. But not many make it.
So what do you need to become an Industry Leader?
If we keep it very simple, you can narrow it down to three key areas.
First of all, you need to have a good product which has a sustainable margin.
Second, you need to have some way to sell this product. You need an effective sales process.
Third, you need to know how to build a successful team. You need an effective process for hiring and building your team.
And it doesn't matter how good the product is, if the team is not right. Long term when you are pushing to be a leader, your sales, and profit margin will shrink, and your business life expectancy will be short lived. This is even more crucial for smaller businesses that don't have a buffer in their margins for mistakes, where a few people make up a high percentage of their team. What can we learn from Sports Teams? The importance of hiring and knowing how to build successful teams is very simple when you look at sports teams. The "team" and Coach are everything. Every person, was a hiring decision - and the hiring decision is a strategic decision, it is the lifeline of the business. It doesn't get palmed off. So why does this change when it comes to how companies operate? Knowing how to create successful teams starts with you as the leader and continues on with your Managers and key staff. This is the single most important area to get trained and skilled in, which will impact every part of your business.
If you truly want to be a leader and agree that you need to know how to create successful teams, I would love to hear from you. Even if you are not sure how, or are on the brink of bankruptcy, I want to especially hear from you, because it does not matter how you are doing right now. If you have the vision, you are willing to do the work, and you have a product that helps the world in some way be better, we want to help you and we have the journey to get you there.
