Are you looking because your company has been affected?

Updated: Sep 12, 2021

Typically, when we talk to companies, we find that they have one or more of these challenges.

Of course, this pandemic has added a new level of stress to businesses and created a new level of barriers.

But imagine if you already have some of these challenges and market conditions change as they have, it will affect you even more.

So any of these challenges can be faced by companies, from the smallest to the largest, and it is not sector-specific either.

Companies of any size, industry and country can face any or all of these challenges.

Probably one of the most common challenges we have encountered is lack of support from team members, which is when you have someone who is not fully aligned.

Another challenge is when you have top producers leaving. And during this pandemic we've seen an unusually high number of fantastic people looking for work and these are people who wouldn't normally be applying for work.

They are looking because their company has been affected, which in turn has impacted on their work in some way, either because the company has downsized or cut their hours. But the best producers are not always lost just because of market conditions. It also depends on what is happening in the company.

Another common problem we see is the "low producers stay" problem. Under normal market conditions, this happens even more: companies keep low producers much longer than they should.

An important reason why they keep these people is that they do not know if it is the staff member who is the low producer.

THEY DON'T KNOW WHETHER IT IS THE STAFF MEMBER OR THE COMPANY. They think they should offer more training, resources, better marketing material, etc., so they think it is the company's fault.

And the other reason they don't know is because they don't measure the statistics, so how can they know. They don't know what the person is actually producing.

Something that has also happened during this pandemic is that some companies have been able to really see who is helping and who is not, so they have taken this opportunity to let their low producers go.

This has meant that there are also an abundant number of low potential candidates in the market more than before.

So you have this situation where you have amazing people, mixed with not so good people 100 times over. So now you have to be able to identify very quickly who is who, because if you move slowly, you miss out on those gems and you can end up with someone you shouldn't be hiring.

Another very common thing that comes up is that the owners or the executives are doing most of the work. Or that the company's strategy isn't working.

If we analyse the problem in depth, we find that very often it is because there are not enough good people in the team or the people are not in the right positions.

The right people, the right strategy and the right structure pave the way to handle most, if not all, of these challenges 👊👊👊👊.
